Hello! I am a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, studying galaxies and AGN in the high-redshift universe with Dr. Caitlin Casey. My current research primarily focuses on determining the nature of "Little Red Dots" (LRDs).
I completed my undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, where I double-majored in Astrophysics and Physics, with a minor in Music Performance (French Horn). Through the NASA Space Grant Program at ASU, I studied the star formation and evolution of nearby galaxies with Dr. Sanchayeeta Borthakur. I am originally from the south suburbs of Chicago, and I grew up frequently staring off into space. Outside of research, my hobbies include jazz, SCUBA, games, books, and anything outdoors!
One of the most surprising discoveries from the era of JWST, LRDs, and their role in the evolution of galaxies, black holes, and AGN remains a mystery. Using the vast area and depth of the COSMOS-Web field, I am analyzing how LRDs fit into the large scale structure of the universe in relation to their host dark matter haloes and neighboring galaxies. Additionally, I am observing LRDs with unique spectral signatures using the Keck Cosmic Web Imager to see if we can learn more about LRDs' environments.

At UCSB, I serve as the physics representative to the Graduate Student Association, a lead officer for Physics Grad Life, and a SACNAS mentor. I love getting to engage with students through working as a TA, but I am always looking for more opportunities to give back to the community and help underrepresented students succeed in astronomy. At ASU, I founded the Association of Women in Physics and served as an officer for SPS. I also volunteered as an Eclipse Ambassador for the Astronomical Society of the Pacific and an undergraduate mentor through the School of Earth and Space Exploration.
